Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Paper & Pulp and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Generalplus Technology Inc (TW:4952), which rose 9.97% or 6.00 points to trade at 66.20 at the close. Maxigen Biotech Inc (TW:1783) added 9.91% or 2.25 points to end at 24.95 and Ene Technology Inc (TW:6243) was up 9.89% or 2.20 points to 24.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208), which lost 9.96% or 1.35 points to trade at 12.20 in late trade. Eastern Media International Corp (TW:2614) declined 9.41% or 0.95 points to end at 9.15 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) shed 9.16% or 1.75 points to 17.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 401 to 354 and 121 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.36% or 0.20 to $55.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.55% or 0.34 to hit $62.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.22 to trade at $1269.42 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 30.206, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2189.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.87.
