Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Construction and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gamma Optical Co Ltd (TW:3557), which rose 10.00% or 0.490 points to trade at 5.390 at the close. Ability Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2374) added 10.00% or 2.30 points to end at 25.30 and Microtek International Inc (TW:2305) was up 10.00% or 0.68 points to 7.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which lost 6.41% or 1.85 points to trade at 27.00 in late trade. Ching Feng Home Fashions Co Ltd (TW:9935) declined 5.96% or 1.90 points to end at 30.00 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425) shed 5.12% or 0.95 points to 17.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 435 to 317 and 124 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.81% or 0.39 to $47.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $52.02 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.43 to trade at $1301.33 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 30.124, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2222.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 92.43.
