Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Trading, Construction & Engineering and Land & Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU), which rose 19.07% or 4.90 points to trade at 30.60 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 13.33% or 200.00 points to end at 1700.00 and AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) was up 12.12% or 31.50 points to 291.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 17.18% or 429.40 points to trade at 2070.00 in late trade. Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) declined 11.18% or 339.70 points to end at 2700.00 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) shed 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 108 and 15 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.14% or 0.52 to $46.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.23% or 0.59 to hit $48.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.40 to trade at $1132.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 213.175, while USD/LKR fell 0.56% to 140.380.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.78.
