Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Motors, Power & Energy and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) added 11.31% or 12.60 points to end at 124.00 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) was up 10.00% or 0.10 points to 1.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 8.33% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.20 in late trade. Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) declined 8.13% or 3.30 points to end at 37.30 and Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) shed 7.46% or 8.50 points to 105.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 116 and 11 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.21% or 0.10 to $44.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $49.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.50 to trade at $1090.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 207.260, while USD/LKR fell 0.18% to 133.595.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 97.88.
