Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Investment Trust and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.21% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 24.83% or 10.70 points to trade at 53.80 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 15.38% or 0.20 points to end at 1.50 and Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA) was up 13.12% or 6.90 points to 59.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which lost 18.40% or 13.80 points to trade at 61.20 in late trade. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) declined 12.24% or 20.20 points to end at 144.80 and Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) shed 10.34% or 15.00 points to 130.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 61 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.54% or 0.24 to $44.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.62% or 0.28 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.85% or 10.85 to trade at $1283.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 212.095, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 146.420.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.64.
