Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Land & Property, Motors and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) was up 12.50% or 0.80 points to 7.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 24.39% or 378.00 points to trade at 1172.00 in late trade. Marawila Resorts PLC (CM:MARA) declined 10.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.800 and Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) shed 9.74% or 3.80 points to 35.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 62 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.19% or 0.11 to $57.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.28% or 0.18 to hit $64.38 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1269.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.31% to 204.630, while USD/LKR fell 0.10% to 152.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.92.
