Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 1.27% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.2400 at the close. Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) added 0.53% or 0.23 points to end at 43.25 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 0.24% or 0.05 points to 20.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which lost 2.97% or 0.102 points to trade at 3.332 in late trade. Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) declined 2.72% or 0.38 points to end at 13.60 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) shed 2.02% or 0.0480 points to 2.3320.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 260 to 112 and 28 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.78% or 0.85 to $46.79 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.69% or 0.85 to hit $49.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1326.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8547.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 95.67.
