Proactive Investors - Ryanair (LON:0RYA) is expecting to beat its highest-ever monthly passenger figures once again in August, having previously set the record in July.
According to Ryanair DAC boss Eddie Wilson, the Irish budget airline should “slightly” outdo the 18.7 million passengers carried in July, which sat 26% higher than pre-pandemic figures.
“People are still travelling,” Wilson said, tipping August should see more people travel with the airline than in July.
This would mark the fourth month in a row in which Ryanair surpasses its own monthly record passenger tally.
According to Wilson, the airline is not experiencing any “unusual” booking trends either, with the growth “indicating […] that the booking curve is going to fill out exactly as predicted,” thanks to a booming recovery for global aviation following the pandemic.
Ryanair had reduced its full-year passenger guidance from 185 million to 183.5 million last month in light of air traffic control strikes and potential disruption to Boeing (NYSE:BA) aircraft deliveries.
However, Wilson confirmed that Ryanair’s orders for the summer had now been filled, adding the airline was not expecting to be hit by supply issues in the near future.
Shares fell 1% to €15.73 on Tuesday.
