Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.76% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.43% or 1.97 points to trade at 83.00 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 0.89% or 0.06 points to end at 6.77 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 0.41% or 0.10 points to 24.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which lost 2.18% or 2.03 points to trade at 90.94 in late trade. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 2.16% or 0.18 points to end at 8.17 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 1.74% or 118.00 points to 6660.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 195 and 124 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.28% or 1.30 to $55.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.62% or 1.62 to hit $60.45 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.34% or 3.90 to trade at $1167.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.00% to 4.1917, while USD/PLN fell 0.13% to 3.7767.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 96.20.
