Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Energy and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 4.86% or 3.05 points to trade at 65.75 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 3.98% or 0.33 points to end at 8.62 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 2.15% or 7.50 points to 356.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 6.64% or 462.60 points to trade at 6500.00 in late trade. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) declined 2.96% or 1.72 points to end at 56.35 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 2.34% or 0.28 points to 11.71.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 327 to 233 and 178 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.55% or 0.27 to $49.04 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.72 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.55 to trade at $1232.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.23% to 4.2732, while USD/PLN fell 0.27% to 3.9782.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.17.
