Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Energy and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 1.95% or 2.09 points to trade at 109.06 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 1.70% or 1.09 points to end at 65.28 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) was up 1.38% or 0.80 points to 58.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which lost 3.19% or 9.80 points to trade at 297.00 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 2.54% or 0.18 points to end at 6.91 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) shed 2.33% or 0.26 points to 10.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 334 to 200 and 169 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.02% or 0.50 to $49.57 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.96% or 0.50 to hit $52.71 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.29 to trade at $1255.41 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.74% to 4.2226, while USD/PLN rose 1.00% to 3.7938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 97.47.
