Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Media and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 6.80% or 500.00 points to trade at 7850.00 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 6.54% or 0.93 points to end at 15.15 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.98% or 2.75 points to 95.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 6.62% or 5.72 points to trade at 80.70 in late trade. PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) declined 5.16% or 1.94 points to end at 35.66 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) shed 3.63% or 1.35 points to 35.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 333 to 243 and 91 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.64% or 0.39 to $61.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.28% or 0.86 to hit $68.24 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.75% or 20.90 to trade at $1213.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.09% to 4.0961, while USD/PLN fell 1.45% to 3.6034.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.14% at 93.62.
