Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Media and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.41% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 4.40% or 0.56 points to trade at 13.28 at the close. Orange Polska SA (WA:OPL) added 2.78% or 0.22 points to end at 8.05 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 1.85% or 0.07 points to 3.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 4.06% or 24.60 points to trade at 582.00 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 3.96% or 3.68 points to end at 89.26 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) shed 3.82% or 0.34 points to 8.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 378 to 145 and 93 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.83% or 2.92 to $73.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.41% or 2.71 to hit $76.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.53% or 13.25 to trade at $2,467.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.18% to 4.29, while USD/PLN fell 1.38% to 3.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.21% at 102.94.
