Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.80% or 4.04 points to trade at 88.20 at the close. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 3.61% or 2.06 points to end at 59.06 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 3.42% or 2.89 points to 87.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP), which lost 4.34% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.16 in late trade. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) declined 4.14% or 6.00 points to end at 139.00 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 2.95% or 8.20 points to 270.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 258 to 204 and 179 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.25% or 0.18 to $71.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.14% or 0.90 to hit $80.18 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1289.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.55% to 4.2961, while USD/PLN rose 0.61% to 3.6407.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.35.
