Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 3.15% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.89 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 2.10% or 1.00 points to end at 48.55 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was up 1.25% or 0.50 points to 40.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 2.62% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.230 in late trade. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 2.50% or 5.00 points to end at 195.00 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 2.24% or 1.50 points to 65.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 250 to 181 and 167 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.28% or 0.21 to $73.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.68% or 1.33 to hit $77.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 9.70 to trade at $1244.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.76% to 4.4040, while USD/PLN rose 1.40% to 3.7932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 94.77.
