Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 2.47% or 1.10 points to trade at 45.72 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 1.94% or 0.12 points to end at 6.32 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 1.29% or 1.40 points to 109.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OrangePL (WA:OPL), which lost 5.01% or 0.29 points to trade at 5.50 in late trade. Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) declined 4.46% or 2.56 points to end at 54.80 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 3.54% or 0.39 points to 10.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 302 to 168 and 190 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.29% or 0.18 to $61.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $65.25 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1330.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.58% to 4.1729, while USD/PLN rose 0.74% to 3.3881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 89.82.
