Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Telecoms and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 2.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 5.82% or 1.17 points to trade at 21.26 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 4.75% or 0.25 points to end at 5.51 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 4.37% or 11.40 points to 272.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 0.98% or 0.71 points to trade at 71.69 in late trade. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) declined 0.73% or 0.05 points to end at 6.80 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 0.32% or 0.17 points to 52.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 295 to 201 and 173 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.68% or 1.30 to $49.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.68% or 1.32 to hit $50.49 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.53% or 6.85 to trade at $1287.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.51% to 4.3896, while USD/PLN fell 0.90% to 3.8776.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.64% at 93.70.
