Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 6.73% or 4.61 points to trade at 73.15 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 4.51% or 2.38 points to end at 55.14 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 2.93% or 9.95 points to 350.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 2.31% or 0.56 points to trade at 23.66 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) declined 2.24% or 1.67 points to end at 72.94 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) shed 1.50% or 0.10 points to 6.56.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 271 to 259 and 171 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.43% or 0.16 to $36.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.83% or 0.32 to hit $38.35 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.25% or 3.10 to trade at $1220.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.04% to 4.2412, while USD/PLN fell 0.08% to 3.7252.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 94.56.
