Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Chemicals and Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 3.87% or 2.71 points to trade at 72.71 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 3.64% or 189.00 points to end at 5386.00 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 3.47% or 0.09 points to 2.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 2.07% or 0.32 points to trade at 15.15 in late trade. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 1.57% or 0.52 points to end at 32.56 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) shed 1.41% or 0.14 points to 9.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 252 to 248 and 174 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.92% or 0.44 to $48.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.41% or 0.20 to hit $48.55 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.67% or 20.90 to trade at $1230.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.44% to 4.4247, while USD/PLN rose 0.26% to 3.9707.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 95.59.
