Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Construction and Developers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 6.09% or 3.98 points to trade at 69.28 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 3.59% or 2.67 points to end at 77.00 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 2.70% or 1.36 points to 51.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which lost 1.58% or 0.37 points to trade at 23.09 in late trade. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 1.25% or 0.41 points to end at 32.38 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) shed 1.13% or 3.95 points to 346.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 293 to 241 and 208 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.81% or 0.40 to $48.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.82% or 0.43 to hit $51.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.85 to trade at $1199.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.3360, while USD/PLN fell 0.59% to 4.0654.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 101.47.
