Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 4.89% or 2.64 points to trade at 56.64 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) added 2.42% or 1.17 points to end at 49.61 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 1.92% or 0.080 points to 4.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which lost 1.82% or 1.11 points to trade at 59.90 in late trade. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) declined 1.43% or 0.60 points to end at 41.40 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) shed 1.17% or 0.030 points to 2.530.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 284 to 247 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.68% or 1.18 to $45.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.07% or 0.95 to hit $46.83 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.99% or 13.05 to trade at $1331.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.12% to 4.2964, while USD/PLN fell 0.21% to 3.8497.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.77.
