Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Energy and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Text SA (WA:TXTP), which rose 13.08% or 9.60 points to trade at 83.00 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 5.18% or 0.55 points to end at 11.16 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 3.92% or 5.75 points to 152.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included X Trade Brokers Dom Maklerski SA (WA:XTB), which lost 2.68% or 1.90 points to trade at 69.10 in late trade. Benefit Systems SA (WA:BFT) declined 2.27% or 60.00 points to end at 2,580.00 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 1.14% or 190.00 points to 16,510.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 272 to 246 and 104 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.10% or 0.08 to $82.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $86.19 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.61% or 37.55 to trade at $2,370.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.30, while USD/PLN fell 0.76% to 3.98.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 104.92.
