Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 3.75% or 2.65 points to trade at 73.25 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.94% or 3.11 points to end at 108.83 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 2.50% or 2.80 points to 114.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which lost 2.34% or 0.16 points to trade at 6.67 in late trade. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) declined 1.89% or 4.40 points to end at 228.60 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) shed 1.85% or 1.00 points to 53.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 240 to 216 and 197 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.01% or 0.66 to $66.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $70.52 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.76% or 10.40 to trade at $1352.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.1336, while USD/PLN fell 0.43% to 3.3274.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 88.85.
