Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Holding Firms and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.57% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 2.88% or 4.1000 points to trade at 146.4000 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 2.47% or 0.090 points to end at 3.730 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) was up 1.88% or 3.000 points to 163.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which lost 4.11% or 60.00 points to trade at 1400.00 in late trade. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) declined 3.09% or 2.400 points to end at 75.300 and Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC) shed 2.54% or 0.150 points to 5.750.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 94 to 93 and 47 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.57% or 7.15 to $1246.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $53.87 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $56.45 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.16% to 7.3071, while USD/PHP fell 0.04% to 50.251.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 101.73.
