Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Property, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 1.73% or 0.180 points to trade at 10.580 at the close. Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI) added 0.85% or 0.85 points to end at 100.80 and Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) was up 0.70% or 0.30 points to 43.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included First Gen (PS:FGEN), which lost 2.70% or 0.75 points to trade at 27.05 in late trade. Robinsons Land (PS:RLC) declined 2.34% or 0.700 points to end at 29.200 and Lt Group (PS:LTG) shed 2.12% or 0.320 points to 14.740.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 85 and 14 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.75% or 9.20 to $1218.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.97% or 0.58 to hit $59.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.21% or 0.81 to trade at $65.47 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.03% to 7.1729, while USD/PHP rose 0.08% to 44.525.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 95.04.
