Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 2.18% or 3.30 points to trade at 154.40 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 0.98% or 0.040 points to end at 4.140 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) was up 0.68% or 5.00 points to 745.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 2.64% or 33.00 points to trade at 1215.00 in late trade. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 2.25% or 46.00 points to end at 2000.00 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) shed 1.48% or 0.240 points to 16.020.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 92 and 52 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.22% or 2.73 to $1254.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.76% or 0.36 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.46 to trade at $50.92 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.03% to 7.2559, while USD/PHP rose 0.01% to 49.998.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 98.93.
