Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Mining & Oil and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were SM Investments Corp (PS:SM), which rose 7.76% or 46.50 points to trade at 645.50 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 2.44% or 3.60 points to end at 151.00 and Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) was up 2.20% or 0.140 points to 6.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 3.17% or 39.00 points to trade at 1191.00 in late trade. Manila Electric Co (PS:MER) declined 1.43% or 4.20 points to end at 290.20 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) shed 1.36% or 0.050 points to 3.630.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 93 and 44 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.63% or 7.60 to $1209.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $48.43 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $51.37 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.15% to 7.2883, while USD/PHP rose 0.15% to 50.335.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 101.10.
