Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 0.72% or 0.100 points to trade at 13.900 at the close. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) added 0.51% or 0.001 points to end at 0.199 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 4.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 13.51% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.320 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 7.62% or 0.800 points to end at 9.700 and Minsur (LM:MINi) shed 3.85% or 0.050 points to 1.250.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 4 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.89% or 0.43 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $48.56 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.40% or 17.90 to trade at $1259.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3330, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7330.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.69% at 95.20.
