Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 4.03% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.155 at the close. Enersur SA (LM:ENE) added 3.88% or 0.310 points to end at 8.310 and Intergroup (LM:IFS) was up 1.81% or 0.450 points to 25.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 8.33% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.110 in late trade. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 6.78% or 0.040 points to end at 0.550 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) shed 5.56% or 1.000 points to 17.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 5 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.00% or 1.29 to $41.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.13% or 1.46 to hit $45.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.40 to trade at $1083.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.27% to 3.3245, while EUR/PEN fell 0.07% to 3.5508.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 98.56.
