Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 1.89% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.700 at the close. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) added 1.25% or 0.003 points to end at 0.244 and Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) was up 0.80% or 0.110 points to 13.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which lost 3.33% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.580 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 3.33% or 0.020 points to end at 0.580 and Panoro (LM:PML) shed 3.33% or 0.005 points to 0.145.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.16% or 1.04 to $49.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $49.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.94% or 24.30 to trade at $1227.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3435, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7405.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 95.59.
