Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 9.09% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.120 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 8.39% or 0.240 points to end at 3.100 and Enersur SA (LM:ENE) was up 1.91% or 0.150 points to 8.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 5.56% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.085 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 2.64% or 0.170 points to end at 6.280 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 1.56% or 0.005 points to 0.315.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 10 to 9 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.87% or 1.38 to $46.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 3.48% or 1.76 to hit $48.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.60% or 6.70 to trade at $1107.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.22% to 3.2887, while EUR/PEN fell 0.24% to 3.5911.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.77% at 97.99.
