Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 4.03% or 0.500 points to trade at 12.900 at the close. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) added 1.59% or 0.100 points to end at 6.400 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was up 0.86% or 0.100 points to 11.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which lost 3.23% or 0.500 points to trade at 15.000 in late trade. Edegel (LM:EDE) declined 2.64% or 0.070 points to end at 2.580 and Sider (LM:SID) shed 2.56% or 0.010 points to 0.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 6 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.56% or 0.28 to $50.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1256.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.04% to 3.3985, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7390.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 97.86.
