Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 3.29% or 0.700 points to trade at 22.000 at the close. Unacem (LM:CEL) added 2.57% or 0.070 points to end at 2.790 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 1.67% or 0.010 points to 0.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Compania Minera Milpo SAA Class I (LM:MILi), which lost 11.77% or 0.340 points to trade at 2.550 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 5.00% or 0.010 points to end at 0.190 and Candente Copper (LM:DNT) shed 4.76% or 0.0030 points to 0.0600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 10 and 19 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.46% or 2.39 to $66.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $72.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.50 to trade at $1221.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.2690, while EUR/PEN rose 0.12% to 3.7896.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.95.
