Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 2.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 6.67% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.240 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) added 5.16% or 0.330 points to end at 6.730 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 5.16% or 0.050 points to 1.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 7.89% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.175 in late trade. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) declined 2.78% or 0.100 points to end at 3.500 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) shed 2.69% or 0.290 points to 10.490.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.08% or 0.03 to $38.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.03% or 0.01 to hit $40.00 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.82% or 10.10 to trade at $1227.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3625, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7971.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.79.
