Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.35% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 9.38% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 5.52% or 0.160 points to end at 3.060 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 5.11% or 0.007 points to 0.144 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferreyros (LM:FER), which lost 3.55% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.630 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 2.59% or 0.007 points to end at 0.263 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.51% or 0.010 points to 0.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 7 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.67% or 1.22 to $44.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.33% or 0.15 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.89% or 11.70 to trade at $1331.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3270, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6511.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.94.
