Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.97% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which rose 4.84% or 0.300 points to trade at 6.500 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) added 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.250 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) was up 4.17% or 0.060 points to 1.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 20.00% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.0560 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 5.13% or 0.006 points to end at 0.111 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 2.38% or 0.020 points to 0.820.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.23% or 1.48 to $47.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.22% or 0.11 to hit $50.32 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.54 to trade at $1219.64 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2915, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5720.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 99.50.
