Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.08% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Alicorp (LM:ALI), which rose 3.55% or 0.240 points to trade at 7.000 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 3.23% or 0.020 points to end at 0.640 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 3.12% or 0.020 points to 0.660 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which lost 5.80% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.650 in late trade. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 4.51% or 0.060 points to end at 1.270 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) shed 3.53% or 0.240 points to 6.560.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.46% or 0.21 to $45.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $47.10 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.26% or 16.80 to trade at $1315.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3155, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6341.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.16.
