Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.76% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 9.41% or 0.080 points to trade at 0.930 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 2.94% or 1.50 points to end at 52.50 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.98% or 0.020 points to 1.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 in late trade. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) declined 2.30% or 0.140 points to end at 5.950 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) shed 2.00% or 0.250 points to 12.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.79% or 0.52 to $65.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $75.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1300.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.43% to 3.2562, while EUR/PEN rose 0.04% to 3.8346.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.61.
