Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Insurance, Materials and Auto & components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 1.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC), which rose 10.50% or 29.5 points to trade at 310.5 at the close. Telenor ASA (OSLO:TEL) fell 0.29% or 0.5 points to end at 170.9 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) was down 0.71% or 0.32 points to 44.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Storebrand ASA (OSLO:STB), which lost 11.33% or 3.40 points to trade at 26.60 in late trade. Norsk Hydro ASA (OSLO:NHY) declined 7.45% or 2.95 points to end at 36.50 and DNO International ASA (OSLO:DNO) shed 6.47% or 0.90 points to 13.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 146 to 41 and 3 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.80% or 1.60 to $58.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.20% or 1.43 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1210.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.50% to 8.3471, while USD/NOK fell 2.21% to 7.4717.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.37% at 94.87.
