Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Diversified Financials, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL), which rose 7.27% or 3.05 points to trade at 45.00 at the close. P/f Bakkafrost (OL:BAKKA) added 5.73% or 18.70 points to end at 344.80 and REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) was up 4.10% or 0.06 points to 1.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL), which lost 3.88% or 1.1 points to trade at 27.5 in late trade. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 2.27% or 0.67 points to end at 28.80 and Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB) shed 1.01% or 2.00 points to 197.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 71 and 24 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.90% or 0.47 to $52.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.69% or 0.38 to hit $55.09 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1212.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.24% to 9.0282, while USD/NOK rose 0.06% to 8.4532.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 100.74.
