Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Energy and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 4.94% or 4.7 points to trade at 99.9 at the close. Storebrand ASA (OSLO:STB) added 2.47% or 0.74 points to end at 30.64 and DNO International ASA (OSLO:DNO) was up 2.07% or 0.22 points to 10.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenor ASA (OSLO:TEL), which lost 1.72% or 3.1 points to trade at 176.9 in late trade. Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) declined 1.55% or 1.00 points to end at 63.70 and Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) shed 1.01% or 0.02 points to 1.58.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 92 to 83 and 4 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.19% or 0.11 to $57.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.30% or 0.18 to hit $61.84 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.60% or 7.00 to trade at $1168.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 1.58% to 8.8517, while USD/NOK rose 2.72% to 7.9646.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.00% at 96.45.
