Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 3.08% or 3.65 points to trade at 122.15 at the close. Vopak (AMS:VOPA) added 2.65% or 1.20 points to end at 46.50 and Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc) was up 1.18% or 0.34 points to 28.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heineken (AMS:HEIN), which lost 1.40% or 1.00 points to trade at 70.34 in late trade. Aegon (AMS:AEGN) declined 1.23% or 0.085 points to end at 6.846 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) shed 1.09% or 0.29 points to 26.88.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 122 and 3 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.64% to 20.47.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.23% or 0.74 to $59.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.58% or 1.03 to hit $64.53 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.50 to trade at $1191.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.0912, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7185.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 97.62.
