Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 1.70% or 0.350 points to trade at 20.900 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.96% or 0.16 points to end at 16.83 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) was up 0.72% or 0.10 points to 14.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which lost 2.46% or 1.25 points to trade at 49.33 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.54% or 0.56 points to end at 36.15 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.31% or 2.80 points to 210.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 78 to 48 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.01% to 12.84.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.78% or 0.79 to $45.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.66% or 0.78 to hit $47.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.57 to trade at $1215.77 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1442, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 95.64.
