Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.94% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 0.04% or 0.02 points to trade at 49.84 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) fell 0.09% or 0.02 points to end at 22.20 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was down 0.14% or 0.10 points to 73.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 3.24% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.38 in late trade. Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) declined 2.61% or 0.58 points to end at 21.67 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) shed 2.15% or 0.88 points to 40.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 24 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.76% to 15.63.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.03% or 0.02 to $74.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.78% or 1.41 to hit $77.82 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.81% or 10.20 to trade at $1244.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1609, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 94.77.
