Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO), which rose 2.26% or 1.68 points to trade at 76.00 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 1.11% or 0.330 points to end at 30.160 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.01% or 0.56 points to 56.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 6.71% or 0.65 points to trade at 9.03 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 1.75% or 0.77 points to end at 43.19 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.69% or 3.50 points to 204.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 49 and 15 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.47% to 9.65.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.49% or 0.95 to $64.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.87% or 0.60 to hit $69.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 3.10 to trade at $1322.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.76% to 1.2038, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8889.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 91.64.
