Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 8.78% or 4.730 points to trade at 58.620 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 3.56% or 0.175 points to end at 5.090 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 2.09% or 0.069 points to 3.364 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 0.12% or 0.03 points to trade at 20.89 in late trade. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 0.08% or 0.01 points to end at 18.21 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) gained 0.28% or 0.09 points to 30.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 129 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.59% to 17.36.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.31% or 0.57 to $44.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.25% or 0.57 to hit $46.34 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 7.15 to trade at $1317.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1174, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8568.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 95.74.
