Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 3.52% or 4.00 points to trade at 117.60 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) added 2.44% or 5.55 points to end at 232.65 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was up 1.87% or 1.27 points to 69.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which lost 2.71% or 0.27 points to trade at 9.73 in late trade. Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB) declined 2.31% or 0.66 points to end at 27.70 and Vopak (AMS:VOPA) shed 2.09% or 0.98 points to 45.98.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 117 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.73% to 19.79.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.51% or 0.93 to $60.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.32% or 0.86 to hit $64.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.65% or 7.70 to trade at $1178.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 95.25.
