Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AMS:KPN), which rose 2.87% or 0.095 points to trade at 3.404 at the close. Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) added 2.64% or 2.49 points to end at 96.87 and DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) was up 2.16% or 1.10 points to 52.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OCI (AMS:OCI), which lost 2.84% or 0.755 points to trade at 25.850 in late trade. Philips Kon (AMS:PHG) declined 0.84% or 0.21 points to end at 25.44 and Vopak (AMS:VOPA) shed 0.53% or 0.25 points to 46.59.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 167 to 80 and 6 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.23% to 21.51.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.63% or 0.37 to $58.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.28% or 0.18 to hit $66.28 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.36% or 16.00 to trade at $1190.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7377.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.55.
