Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 4.92% or 0.37 points to trade at 7.88 at the close. Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) added 3.32% or 1.86 points to end at 57.86 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 2.97% or 2.34 points to 81.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 0.17% or 0.030 points to trade at 17.634 in late trade. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) declined 0.13% or 0.035 points to end at 25.920 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) shed 0.02% or 0.01 points to 49.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 35 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 23.30% to 16.99.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.42% or 0.25 to $59.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.54% or 0.34 to hit $63.06 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.57% or 20.90 to trade at $1351.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.2409, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 89.17.
