Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 3.50% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.49 at the close. Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) added 2.35% or 0.94 points to end at 41.02 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 2.35% or 3.90 points to 169.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 4.38% or 3.620 points to trade at 78.940 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.67% or 0.170 points to end at 25.110 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) shed 0.58% or 0.175 points to 29.770.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 31 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 10.65% to 14.24.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.97% or 0.71 to $74.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.95% or 1.51 to hit $79.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1254.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.94% to 1.1677, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8850.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 94.29.
